Promote means to give someone a special job that needs to be accompished.
Like a promotion. The British had a special job from the King to take over America.
The Americans had a good leader named George Washington. He knew alot of good
fighting spot and spaces to hide like trees and behind houses. The British didnt know
were they were going or where they are. The last battle they ever had was when the British
surrendered at Yorktown. The British then had to sign a document called the peace treaty.
It said there will be peace between the two of the countries.That was also when Independence
was approved and promoted. This was the end of the Revolutionary War.
